Image Courtesy of Breweriana.com Auction.  The harder of the two American Art Works trays to find.  Great bottle - if anyone has a picture of this great label, please let us know as it would be great to connect an image to what is represented on the tray.

 Comments:

From the Collection of Mark Rogers.  This is an excellent version of a very nice tray. You see this one everyonce in a while, however since it has a black background, often they are pretty scratched up. The bottles in this tray are called "steinies" and were typically found in 7 ounce and 12 ounce versions. These appear to be 12 ouncers.

From the Collection of Mark Rogers.  Great tray that should be kept away from direct light if you want to maintain its deep orange color.  Most that you will find are quite faded.

From the Collection of Daryl Ziegler.  Extremely rare Chester tray in a shockingly bright orange color.  As with the orange Chester pilgrim above, if you own one of these beauties, please do not hang it close to a direct light source.

From the Collection of Mark Rogers.  This tray features the Silver 'Mercury' Dime issued by the US Mint in Philadelphia, PA from 1916 to 1945 - see a picture below.  If you know more of the story about why Chester chose this as a logo, please let us know so we can share the information with others.

From the Collection of Mark Rogers.  Strong contrasting colors and great Script "Chester" make this tray quite popular with collectors.

 Comments:

From the Collection of Mark Rogers.  Same "Chester" script as the previous tray, so the assumption from our team is that they are from the same time period.  If anyone has any additional details on any of the trays in the By Brewer page, please contact us so we can set the record straight.

The coin was designed by Adolph Weinman using his wife as the model.  His intent was to depict a young Lady Liberty and it was to be called the Winged Liberty Head dime.  Despite his best intentions, her winged Phrygian cap was confused with the Roman god Mercury and therefore its common name of Silver Mercury Dime.
